Session 1: Outlook for Shipping: Global Geo-Political Changes
There seems to be an increasing tendency for traditional supply/demand market determinism to be influenced by rapidly changing uncertainties and unpredictability brought about by geo-political developments. The state of demand in shipping is in a state of constant flux and the equilibrium of supply in strategic chaos.

What and how are these geo-political developments impacting on the shipping and maritime industries? Is political determinism replacing, or re-shaping the marketplace? How? What has the rise of BRICs (Brazil, Russia, India and China) has for the global maritime industry in general and Asia in particular?
