Romanian Shipbuilders Association – ANCONAV – represents over 95% of the Romanian shipbuilding production and the majority of the producers for ships equipments and accessories.
ANCONAV is a member of the Community of European Shipyards Associations – CESA.
The Romanian shipyards provide more than 9000 direct jobs for a high skilled labor force and more than 80% of the delivered vessels are completely build in Romania and the balance is for high outfitted ships hulls.
Altogether, the maritime manufactures are generating an important turnover and the deliveries are oriented for export in a proportion of more than 98%.
For obtaining these results, the shipbuilding industry faced the problems of an economy in transition, being obvious the necessity of restructuring of property and development of a private sector. In this aspect the Romanian shipbuilding industry has been one of the most dynamic sector.
We hope for the future to maintain and develop our position in the worldwide shipbuilding market, in a fair competition, for the benefit of our clients and our enterprises.
