It is designed to meet customer demands for a safe and fuel-flexible engine, running on gas, LFO or HFO. It can smoothly switch between fuels whilst operating and is designed to give the same output regardless of the fuel.With a bore of 500mm and a stroke of 580mm, the rated power of the Wartsila 50DF engines is 950kW/cyl at 500 rpm and 975kW/cyl at 514 rpm.
